Scholarships & Financial Aid

Scholarships: Scholarships based on academic ability are available to Prep students. Ignatian scholarships are granted to the top 10% of those who take the (arch) diocesan admissions' exams or their equivalents (SSAT, etc.). McGuinness and Rooney Scholarships are offered to those in the top 15% of the entrance exams.  All academic scholarships are renewed each year if the student maintains a B average. For more information on the scholarship program, please contact Mr. John Irvine, '83, P'11, Director of Admissions.

Ignatian Scholars:  Students who are offered Ignatian Scholarships will participate in an enrichment program over the course of their freshman year.  They will be mentored by a carefully selected team of upperclassmen who will meet with them on a regular basis on a variety of topics such as time management, co-curriculars, spirituality, and prep life.  The Ignatian Scholars Team also sponsors periodic lectures and presentations by alumni achievers, service projects, and trips to art galleries and museums.  The program is administered by Mr. Juan Arteaga, Assistant Dean and Ms. Trish Fitzpatrick, P'07, '16, Director of Strategic Relationships.

HAP Grants: A small number of grants are available to those students who participated in the Higher Achievement Program. These are based on both need and dedication to the ideals of HAP.

Outside Grants: Prep recognizes no promise of grants from outside institutions, organizations or individuals unless written notice from the granting agency is given to and accepted by the Financial Aid Director.

Athletics: As per New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) regulations, Saint Peter's Prep offers no athletic scholarships.

Financial Aid: Tuition assistance is awarded for a period of one school year. A student must reapply for tuition assistance each year he attends Prep. In order to renew, a student must be in good academic standing, and must have no outstanding financial obligations to the school. Families who are interested in receiving aid need to enroll in the FAIR process of estimating financial aid. Prep cannot award aid to anyone who has not completed the FAIR process. The FAIR application is available through the Financial Aid Office of Saint Peter's Prep or through the FAIR website at www.fairapp.com.

Deadlines:  In order to receive financial aid notification in time for Registration Day, financial aid applications for the Class of 2017 must be submitted by November 30, 2012.  In order for any Prep student (Classes of 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017) to be considered for financial assistance for the academic year 2013-14, financial aid applications must be filed by April 15, 2013.

The FAIR website will ask applicants to provide Prep's School Code and Password. They are:

Password: spps144
