Prep's Master Plan: Phase-by-Phase

Given the scope of Prep’s master plan—coupled with the financial realities connected with such a far-reaching vision—its execution will take place over a decade or more, dependant upon income from fundraising and potential property development. The board of trustees approved phase one at their special session on June 22, 2009, and future phases will be approved as funding goals for each phase are achieved.

It is expected that the phasing of the projects will proceed as follows:

PHASE ONE:

  • (Spring 2010) Conversion of the church and adjacent spaces into a temporary cafeteria/multi-purpose space
  • (Summer 2010) Execute exterior work on Burke Hall, including installation of larger windows and the creation of a main entrance on the Warren Street Plaza
  • (Summer 2011) Execute extensive interior reconfiguration of Burke Hall, including installation of ten new science labs and additional science classrooms; also includes new mechanical/electrical systems throughout the building.

ADDITIONAL PHASES (Projects are shown in appropriate clusters; exact sequence TBD):

  • Improvements to Mulry Hall & Hogan Hall
  • Removal of north portion of former Jesuit residence; Reconfiguring of the former Jesuit residence along Grand Street
  • Construction of a new multi-purpose space in York Street parking lot; possibly with parking underneath
  • Construction of a new academic building
  • Construction of an annex to the former Jesuit residence
