Before parting ways for the long Thanksgiving weekend, the Prep community gathered in the gym for the annual Thanksgiving prayer service. As has been a Prep tradition for over 15 years, the service provided an opportunity to reflect on the experience of gratitude as lived in some of the diverse faith traditions within the Prep community.
The service also provided an opportunity to celebrate the generosity of the Prep community in this year's Thanksgiving food drive, once again part of the Great Ignatian Challenge in partnership with other Jesuit schools in the tri-state area. Prep collected nearly 14,000 food items – more than 11,000 pounds of food that will help area families in need. A sampling of the food items was blessed during the service.
As always, the first Prep Spirit Awards of the year were also presented following the prayer service. Congratulations to the following six seniors, pictured left to right below, who were recognized for living the values of the Grad at Grad, which Prep seeks to instill in all students: religious, loving, open to growth, intellectually competent, and committed to doing justice:
Thomas Lee, Ashon Stewart, Eugene Keohane, Tate Fryczynski, J. Griffin Gonzalez, and Robert Dungan.
