In recent days, Prep musicians have appeared on some grand stages – the Prep Band appeared at Barclays Center during two NCAA basketball games, while two Prep Vox members (Adrian Camano, '18 and Michael Appello, '19) performed at NJPAC as part of the New Jersey All-State Mixed Choir – but, particularly as Christmas approaches, there's no place like home. So don't miss the annual Prep Christmas Concert, coming to O'Keefe Commons on Sunday, December 10!
Prep's annual Christmas Concert is the perfect way to get in the spirit of the season, as the Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Vox perform both modern and traditional Christmas favorites in a festive atmosphere! The fun begins at 2 p.m. in Prep's O'Keefe Commons, and all are welcome!
Here's a look back at some recent highlights for Prep's music program:
Adrian Camano, '17 and Michael Appello, '18, pictured here with Ms. Emily Fencik, the director of Vox, were invited to participate in the New Jersey Music Educators All-State Mixed Choir this fall, and completed their concert season with a performance at NJPAC on November 19. It was the second year in a row that Adrian was invited to join this prestigious ensemble, making him the first ever Prep Vox member to be a part of the All-State Mixed Choir for multiple years.
The Prep Band, meanwhile, was at the Barclays Center during the NCAA Legends Classic, acting as the pep band for the Penn State Nittany Lions on November 20 and 21, while Blue Band was on the road with the football team.
